• Cynthia was born March 1st, 1986 to parents Jessica and Ryan Townsend. - She has two siblings, a young sister and an older brother.
• Was born and raised in New Orleans. Still calls it home.
• Is the niece of Marie Townsend. Other family includes : Her marital uncle Shawn Webster, Cousins Brittany, Andrea, Maddiline and Barbie and Melody.
• Didn't have much of a childhood. She was always doing dance recitals, singing competitions, just anything where she could be in the spotlight. She always wanted to be a star and that was her chance to make people see her shine.
• Her father Ryan is who initially got her a break. He sent in a tape of her to a number of record companies since she enjoyed singing so much. He thought she had a talent and they ultimately got a call back from RCA Records. This ended up with her auditioning for RCA executives in Los Angeles. After auditioning, a waiting game, phone tag and impending disappointment, they received a call back offering Cynthia a shot at a lifetime. They wanted her to record some demos. - The demo ultimately eventually ended up turning into her debut album, which came when she was 13 years old. The album was just the beginning for her.
• Her debut album didn't really take off. It didn't get the reception that was intended. Disappointed by this, Cynthia ultimately didn't think she had what it took to be a singer. She took a hiatus from music from 14 until she was 17 to finish up her high school career. When she was 17, however, she took a shot at the big time again. Only this time, it was more beneficial.
• She switched record companies when she was nineteen years old, leaving RCA Records to join up with Jive to release her second album under the "Cyn Mackenzi" moniker, which has stuck with her up until now. - The "Me Against The Music" album was what started the 'controversial' portion of Cyn's career. That controversy continues even today.
• "Came Out" to Rolling Stone in 2005. She admitted she was openly bisexual and often preferred women to men. This sparked a lot of negativity for her and a lot of people insisted it was a poor move for her career coming out in any shade of homosexuality. She's very much openly bisexual, an advocate for the NOH8 campaign, and often speaks on equal rights.
• Despite all the publicity she gets, and despite all the chaos that surrounds her in her professional life, her personal life is much different. Cynthia is a very private person, especially when it comes to who she's dating. She doesn't often flaunt who she's dating for the cameras because she values privacy and the sentiment of love. - On that tangent, she still often prefers girls to guys but is an equal love enthusiast.
• She's a party fanatic and a hell raiser extraordinaire. She loves going to clubs, being with loud and spontaneous people. She often spent the bulk of her off time in Los Angeles's club scene. It doesn't matter the type of club she's a bar hopper and a club goer. Gay bars, S&M clubs, sex clubs, straight up power pumping night clubs... she loves the environment of dancing with total strangers, drinking, and letting loose.
• Recently bought a home in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Family is important to Cynthia and since her parents moved to West Chester to be closer to her aunt four years ago, she finally decided to settle up in Pennsylvania. She splits her time between Los Angeles and her new home in West Chester.
• Is currently on a slight vacation from the first leg of her 'Leather and Lace' tour that spanned the first six months of 2009 after her album dropped. She plans on taking the rest of 09 off and then touring again to kick off 2010.
• Personally doesn't mind everyone knowing her name or knowing who she is. She finds it endearing, for better or worse, that people know who she is. Publicity, paparazzi and fame never really bugged her. Nor has it jaded her. She's a down to Earth individual who loves her friends, her family and absolutely loves her fans. - Cyn Mackenzi often participates in charity events, visits children's hospitals in the cities she tours, as well as signs autographs/takes photos for fans willing to wait for her. She often never leaves until everyone goes home satisfied and happy since her fans mean the absolute most to her for getting her this far. When it comes to those who hate her or judge her? She will usually greet them with a smile, a "have a nice day, god bless you", and just a very over all pleasant demeanor. She's a classy woman but she knows that killing with kindness pisses people off more than getting angry.
